Find and cancel forgotten subscriptions

Have AI list every recurring charge from your statements, then cancel the ones you don't use.

What happened

Several new apps scan email receipts or bank statements for recurring charges and offer to cancel them, including Kill the Sub, Reclaim, and Chargeback. Their savings figures are self-reported.

Our verdict

You can do this yourself in ten minutes with any assistant and three months of statements, without giving an app access to your accounts.

Tools

Any chat assistant (do-it-yourself); subscription apps if you prefer automation

Prompt to copy

Below are three months of card transactions (account numbers removed). List every recurring charge with its monthly and yearly cost, flag possible duplicates (for example two music services), and sort them by yearly cost. For the top five, tell me how to cancel each one.
Before you try it: Apps that read your email or bank data need sensitive access. Check whether they are read-only and how they store data. Confirm cancellations in writing.
