Rework a denied card dispute with an AI assistant
When your card issuer keeps denying a dispute for something you paid for but never got, have an assistant help you restate the case, gather documents, and prepare for the phone call.
What happened
WSOC-TV in Charlotte reported on September 9, 2026 that Suuz Martines paid thousands of dollars up front for spa services, and the spa closed before she received them. She says her bank, Synchrony, kept denying her dispute for months. She asked ChatGPT to help rework it. It suggested key terms and phrasing, listed supporting documents to include, pointed to possible legal grounds, and wrote a script in case she reached a person on the phone. She says an approval letter arrived five days later and she got her money back. The story does not give the amount. This is one person's account.
Our verdict
Worth trying when a dispute was denied and you believe the charge qualifies. The assistant helps you make a clearer case; it does not change the rules. Martines herself said you have to read what it writes carefully.

I paid [merchant] [amount] on [date] with my [card or account type] for [goods or services], and I did not receive them because [what happened]. My card issuer denied my dispute on [date] (denial letter pasted below, with account numbers removed). 1) Explain in plain language why it was denied. 2) Rewrite my dispute as a short, factual letter that states what I paid for, what was not delivered, and the key dates. 3) List the documents I should attach, such as receipts, contracts, emails, and proof the business closed. 4) List the protections my card agreement and federal rules mention for goods or services not delivered, so I can confirm them with the issuer. 5) Write a short script for a phone call with the issuer. Mark anything you are unsure of so I can check it.
