Watch prices across stores before you buy
Added October 20, 2026
Save items from several retailers in one AI shopping cart and let it alert you when a price drops or an item comes back in stock, so you buy at a lower price instead of checking each store by hand.
What happened
On October 15, 2026, Google said Universal Cart was rolling out in the U.S. across Search and the Gemini app. You save products while shopping in AI Mode or Gemini, from different retailers, into one cart. Google says it tracks price drops and back-in-stock changes using its Shopping Graph, shows promo codes it finds, and can check out with Google Pay at some merchants or send items to the merchant's own cart. 9to5Google reported on October 16 that the cart also appears on the Google homepage and in Chrome's New Tab page. These features are Google's own description; we have not seen independent tests of how often the alerts lead to a lower price.
Our verdict
Useful for a planned purchase that can wait a few days or weeks. It saves the work of checking several stores. It does not tell you whether you need the item, and a price alert is not a reason to buy.
Tools
Google Universal Cart (Search AI Mode and the Gemini app, U.S. only); a store's own price alerts or a price-tracking site work for single retailers

Fill in your details to complete the prompt. Nothing you type leaves this page.
I want to buy [item, with model number if it has one] and can wait until [date]. My budget is [amount]. 1) List the retailers that usually sell this exact model, and note any that sell a slightly different version under a similar name. 2) Tell me what a normal price looks like and what a real discount would be, and say where that information comes from. 3) Set up or explain how to set up price-drop alerts for it. 4) Before I buy, remind me to check shipping, tax, return window, and whether the seller is the retailer itself or a third-party seller.
