Ask an assistant where your money went last month
Added October 21, 2026
Link your card and bank transactions to an AI assistant and ask plain questions, like how much you spent on groceries last month, to find where spending can be trimmed.
What happened
On September 28, 2026, 9to5Google reported that the Gemini app was adding Google Wallet as a Connected App. Once it is turned on, Gemini can use transaction data from financial accounts you have linked to Google Wallet through services like Plaid to summarize spending, answer questions such as how much you spent on groceries last month, offer budgeting tips, and summarize rewards and offers on your saved cards. Google's description says it cannot make payments or change or delete linked accounts. The integration is U.S. only, for personal Google accounts, and was rolling out gradually. These features are Google's own description; we have not seen independent tests of how accurate the summaries are.
Our verdict
Useful if you already keep cards in Google Wallet and want quick answers about your spending without building a spreadsheet. A one-time look at a statement in any chatbot works too, without linking accounts.
Tools

Fill in your details to complete the prompt. Nothing you type leaves this page.
Using my transactions from [month], 1) total my spending by category and list the five largest categories, 2) list recurring charges and when each one renews, 3) flag charges that look duplicated or unfamiliar, and 4) suggest three specific places I could spend less next month, with the amount each could save. Show which transactions each number comes from, and say if any category might be wrong because of refunds or transfers.
